Powering the Future with Green Energy<\/h2>\n

Brown energy comes from conventional fossil fuels, such as oil or coal. The combustion from these fuels releases harmful emissions into the environment. Renewable or \u201cgreen\u201d energy comes from clean sources such as solar and wind power that are more sustainable and are better for the environment.<\/p>\n

In 2021, 100% of BHID\u2019s electricity and gas was \u2018brown energy\u2019. We\u2018ve worked really hard to reduce our reliance on brown energy as quickly as possible. By 2022 69% of BHID\u2019s electricity was green or renewable and last year, we ensured that 100% of our electricity was from green sources.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n <\/section>\n<\/section>\n\n

Through dedicated efforts, we have not only transformed our waste management but also taken substantial steps in reducing our carbon footprint, reinforcing our promise to make a meaningful impact on the planet. Leading the Way with 0% Waste to Landfill<\/h2>\n

We\u2019re committed to reducing our waste and minimising the impact on the environment. One of our key goals is to send zero waste to landfill, which we are achieving by working with Reconomy Connect, a company that specialises in waste management and recycling. By partnering with Reconomy Connect, we\u2019re able to ensure that all of our waste materials are sorted and recycled properly, rather than ending up in a landfill where they would take years to decompose and contribute to environmental damage. <\/p>\n
